Riftbound: Legacy is the sixth set of Riftbound, the League of Legends TCG, and releases worldwide on 29 January 2027. It is also the biggest set so far: 346 cards, including 93 Showcase cards. In this preview you'll read what's in Legacy, which Champions and products are coming and what changes in the booster packs.
Legacy follows Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance. Riot Games announced the set in its big look ahead at the Riftbound releases of 2027. The set revolves around the well-known regions of Runeterra: Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover & Zaun, the Freljord and Bilgewater. Those regions come back in the cards and in the way you play.
Legacy is also the first Riftbound set designed from the ground up with Draft in mind. If you love draft nights at your local game store, this is a set to look forward to.
| What | When |
|---|---|
| First previews (Convergence Fest) | December 2026 |
| Pre-Rift events | 22 to 28 January 2027 |
| Worldwide release Riftbound: Legacy | 29 January 2027 |
| Proving Grounds 2nd Edition | 19 February 2027 |
During the Pre-Rift week you can already play the set at participating stores, one week before the official release.
The biggest change is in the boosters themselves. In every Legacy booster pack, one Common slot is replaced by a dedicated slot for a Legend or a Battlefield. That means every pack gives you something you can use straight away to build a deck, which is exactly what you need for Draft and Sealed.
With 346 cards there is a lot to collect. The 93 Showcase cards are the special versions with alternate artwork, ideal for collectors hunting for the best pulls.
These Champions are confirmed as Legends in Legacy:
Riot has also said the set contains more Legends that will be revealed later. We'll keep an eye on them for you.
Legacy brings the familiar products at release, plus a new starter box shortly after:
The four Champion Decks are ready-to-play 56-card decks. Each deck also comes with a Legacy booster pack, a paper playmat and a foldable deck box. The decks are designed to work well together in 2v2 too, so you can team up with a friend right away.
New to Riftbound? Then Proving Grounds 2nd Edition is worth a look. It is the updated starter box with four preconstructed decks built around Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir and Illaoi. You learn the game with it and can play with up to four players right away.
If you enjoy Draft or Sealed, Legacy is probably the most interesting Riftbound set so far: it was designed for it and every pack contains a Legend or Battlefield. Collectors get plenty to hunt for with 346 cards and 93 Showcase cards. And if you mainly want to play quickly, the Champion Decks and Proving Grounds 2nd Edition are an easy way in.
