Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising has been in stores since 22 May 2026, and the Mega Evolution series already has newer sets. Still, for many collectors Chaos Rising is a set worth completing, mainly because of Mega Greninja ex. In this guide you'll read what's in the set, which cards get the most attention and which product suits you best.
“Greninja is my absolute favourite. It's great that they've made some really cool cards featuring him recently, especially in Chaos Rising and the Greninja box from Shrouded Fable. Those are my favourites.” – Liam from RubyGator
The packaging puts Mega Greninja ex and Mega Floette ex front and centre, but the set has five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex in total. Mega Pyroar ex and Mega Dragalge ex complete the line-up, and Mega Gallade ex was added to the English version. Keep in mind when playing: if a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes three Prize cards.
Mega Greninja ex is a Water-type Stage 2 card that evolves from Frogadier and has 350 HP. For collectors, the interesting part is that it appears in four versions in the set:
| Number | Version |
|---|---|
| 22/86 | Regular card in the main set |
| 100/86 | Ultra Rare (full art) |
| Secret rare | Special Illustration Rare |
| 122/86 | Mega Hyper Rare, the last card in the set |
The Mega Hyper Rare is the rarest version. If you really want that one card, buying the single is usually smarter than opening pack after pack.
Liam: “Chaos Rising is great to open, and we see a lot of people actively hunting for the Greninja card.” Liam himself hasn't opened many packs of this set, and unfortunately the few he did open had no Greninja. That's exactly why a single is a smart option if you really want that version.

Not everyone buys for the same reason. Here's how to pick the product that fits your goal.
The Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box contains nine booster packs, a full-art Fennekin promo, 65 sleeves, 40 Energy cards and a storage box with dividers. Handy if you also want to play or keep your cards neatly sorted. There's also a Pokémon Center version with eleven booster packs and two Fennekin promos, but that one is only sold through the official Pokémon Center.
The Chaos Rising Booster Bundle contains six booster packs, no extras. A good choice if you mainly want to open packs and already have sleeves and Energy cards.
“Booster Bundles are great if you want to open without spending much. Elite Trainer Boxes are also fun to open, but they also look great kept sealed in one of our acrylic Elite Trainer Box displays.” Take a look at our Elite Trainer Box display case.
